Getting started
Well with GU Health is our free wellbeing app for members, designed to help you on your journey to better health. Focusing on all areas of your wellbeing - mind, body, lifestyle and diet - you'll be rewarded for making healthy choices and unlock the incentives to keep you on your way to well.
The Well with GU Health App is available for all current GU Health insurance members over the age of 18. All adult members listed on a policy can use Well with GU Health - but you must have your individual email address registered with GU Health. If you haven't added your email address, ask the policy holder to assign it to you in the GU Health App or in their member account. You can also contact us to have individual email addresses added to a policy.
Well with GU Health is available on the App Store and Google Play for all major Apple and Android smartphone devices.
The first time you log in, you’ll need to enter the email address linked to your GU Health account, and a verification code. Once you’re in, you can enable fingerprint or facial recognition and set a pin code for quick and easy access the next time you use the app.
You must be over 18 and a member of a current GU Health insurance policy to access the app. You won't have access if you've cancelled your policy. If you can't log in, make sure you're entering the email address registered to you in your GU Health account, and that it's not also registered to another member on your policy or on a policy with nib. If you're not the policyholder and you haven't added your individual email address, ask the policyholder to add it for you in their member account.
If you have any concerns or think there may be a reason to limit or stop your participation in Well with GU Health, speak to your doctor.

Connecting your device and tracking your activity
You can sync Fitbit, Garmin and Apple Watch devices, and the Apple Health and Google Fit apps. If you use a device that isn't on the list, try syncing it with Apple Health or Google Fit!
Once your tracking app or wearable has been connected, open Well with GU Health and select the yellow plus button and hit sync to update with your recent activity.
Yes! If you have a native app on your phone such as Apple Health or Google Fit, you can connect to these. If not, you can add your activity manually in the app with the quick add (+) button.
The Health app comes preloaded with all new iPhones and iOS updates. Open Health and follow the instructions to set up the app. Once Apple Health is set up, open Well with GU Health, and from the menu, go to Connect Device where you'll see an option to connect to Apple Health.
Apple Health will not automatically sync with the Well with GU Health App, so you'll need to sync it on a regular basis (preferably daily) to keep your data up to date. Just tap on the quick add button (+) and select Sync.
Download the Google Fit app to your Android device, and register or log in. Open Well with GU Health, and from the menu, go to Connect Device where you'll see an option to connect to Google Fit. Sign in with the same email address that you've registered with Google Fit and allow Well with GU Health to access your tracking details.
Google Fit does not automatically sync with the Well with GU Health App, so you'll need to sync it on a regular basis (preferably daily) to keep your data up to date. Just tap on the quick add button (+) and select Sync.
Check that your wearable or tracking app is syncing to its associated app (e.g. Garmin Connect, Fitbit, Apple Health, Google Fit). If you entered credentials when syncing your tracker from within Well with GU Health, check these are correct. If no stats appear on your dashboard after connecting, take at least 100 steps, confirm they have been recorded in your tracker's associated app, wait a few minutes, then pull down on the top of the dashboard screen to refresh. If your steps don't update, exit the app and restart it. If your steps aren't reflected in your tracking app, please refer to the troubleshooting guides for your wearable or tracking app.
If you’re unable to sync your Garmin Connect app after disconnecting and reconnecting it, you can log in to your Garmin account online to revoke access, and then connect to it again in the Well with GU Health App.
Log in to Garmin Connect, opens in a new tab online.
Go to your Account Settings, and Account Information.
Scroll down to Applications and select Disconnect beside Well with GU Health.
Go to Well with GU Health to connect to Garmin Connect again by following the usual steps.
It can sometimes take a little while to sync the data from your tracker. If your dashboard hasn't updated after 24 hours, check that your tracker is connected (in Connect Device in the menu) and syncing to its associated app (e.g. Garmin, Fitbit, Google Fit, Apple Health). If no stats appear on your dashboard after connecting, take at least 100 steps, confirm they have recorded in your tracking app, wait a few minutes, then pull down on the top of the dashboard screen to refresh. If your steps are not reflected in Well with GU Health, exit the app and restart it. If your steps aren't reflected in your tracking app, please refer to the troubleshooting guides for your wearable or tracking app.
Well Rewards
Your rewards become available when you unlock a new Well Level. Claim discounts, vouchers, or health features in the Rewards tab.
First, check out the Rewards Support FAQs in the Well with GU Health App. If you need more help, contact our Rewards support team on 1300 987 635 (8:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm Saturday).
When you log healthy actions, you’ll earn Well Points. Healthy actions include being active and eating well, keeping track of your progress and expanding your wellbeing knowledge. Some are worth more points than others, so look out for the ones that earn you the most!
To unlock the next level, you’ll need to accumulate the number of Well Points needed to reach that level.
It can sometimes take a little while to update your points balance after you’ve logged an activity through the app or to sync the data from your tracking app or wearable. If your points haven’t updated after 24 hours please contact us.
It’s important to do your healthy actions regularly, otherwise it’s probably not enough to have much of an impact on your wellbeing. For this reason, you accumulate Well Points over 12 months before they reset to zero. You’ll stay at the level you’ve reached for the next 12 months while you build your Well Points up again.
Well with GU Health and your policy
No. The data you enter into the app won’t change anything about your insurance policy - we can’t make any changes to your cover because of your health or personal circumstances. See the Well with GU Health Privacy Collection Notice for more information.
You will no longer be able to use the app and will lose access to your activity logs, health tools, and discounts you’ve earned with your Well Points. See the Well with GU Health T&Cs for more information.
If you temporarily suspend your policy, you'll still be able to use the app to earn Well Points and track your progress, but you won't be able to redeem any Well Rewards. Remember - your Well Points expire after 12 months, so if you're approaching the end of this period, you might want to claim any rewards before you suspend your policy!
