Impact of corporate wellness on the workplace

Impact of corporate wellness on the workplace

Dr Lee Naylor and the team at Fit & Healthy Business recently undertook a study into the Impacts of Corporate Wellness on the Workplace. The research aimed to determine how companies can best increase productivity and reduce absenteeism. The study analysed a number of key health indicators, correlating them with annual absentee (sick days), and found that:
  • Companies can halve the number of absentee days among employees by engaging in an active exercise program.
  • Only 15.7% of corporate Australia exercises daily.
  • Dropping a dress size can significantly reduce absentee rates in corporate women.
  • More than 55% of corporate employees are overweight or obese and at serious risk of cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and many cancer‑related illnesses.
